I fully recommend this accommodation.
These spherical shapes extend inside with custom-designed furniture by contemporary artists to marry the walls of its ten suites. In order to live a complete experience, the venue also offers, as part of private parties, a 500-seat amphitheater, a reception room and a panoramic lounge.
The Porsche Archive is based in Zuffenhausen – but that’s not the whole story. There are also thousands of design drawings housed in a basement room in the Weissach Development Center. All in all, this 70-year collection contains over 100,000 sheets.
Uwe Geisel’s movements are almost reverential as he unrolls a construction drawing with the utmost care and caution on the table top in front of him. He caresses the sheet of parchment with his hand and pauses briefly before commenting with the air of a true expert; “This technical drawing shows an early Carrera logo dating back to 1952”. The process is repeated with another sheet of parchment: “There’s a lot of interesting details on this one, which was produced in 1948 for the Cisitalia. See the steering wheel? It makes another appearance in the Porsche 356-001”. Geisel allows the tension to build as he unrolls the next sheet; “This drawing shows the delicate bodywork of the 356. It was sketched out on a drawing board in 1950”. All of these drawings are originals that have survived the decades intact.

I am looking for a new house.
How about White and Black? I love it.
For the bold ones only. Cartier is proud to reveal the new Santos de Cartier film starring the Maison’s new ambassador Jake Gyllenhaal. The thrilling film is inspired by aviation pioneer Alberto-Santos Dumont and his personal quest to push boundaries and achieve the impossible.
At this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, MINI has teamed up with London architectural firm Studiomama to present an installation entitled MINI LIVING – BUILT BY ALL. This living concept enables close collaboration between residents and architects, making it an excellent way of addressing each individual’s requirements. It shows how architecture can provide a creative response to the increasing scarcity of living space in urban areas.
Architecture encouraging participation.
MINI LIVING – BUILT BY ALL extends the underlying themes of MINI LIVING (e.g. making creative use of a small living area) to include the principle of participation. I.e. people, their individual needs and ideas now play a more centre role. “Today’s standardised housing market is limited in its ability to meet the requirements of the individual,” says Oke Hauser, Creative Lead MINI LIVING, explaining the approach behind the installation. “So our MINI LIVING – BUILT BY ALL installation turns people into active creators and puts them back at the heart of the design process. We believe the quality of a living space is determined by how well the residents identify with their home.”
From concept to implementation.
Besides the installation, MINI is once again setting up an experience area. The MINI LIVING FACTORY OF IDEAS gives visitors the opportunity to create their own visions for the living spaces of the future in the form of models. The MINI LIVING installation itself is housed in an adjacent room and showcases four example living space concepts along with a public area, such as a communal kitchen or outdoor gym. It all adds up to produce a self-contained micro-neighbourhood, while at the same time demonstrating that even the interior of an empty building can be put to good use for the future of urban architecture.
About MINI LIVING.
MINI LIVING is an initiative first launched by MINI in 2016 with the aim of devising creative architectural solutions for the urban lifestyles of the future. MINI LIVING has already exhibited visionary concepts for shared and collaborative living/working in our cities over recent years in Milan with its MINI LIVING – BREATHE and MINI LIVING – Do Disturb installations.
The new installation will be on show at the Salone del Mobile on Via Tortona in Milan, Italy from 17 – 22 April 2018.
Mercedes-Maybach stands for the ultimate in exclusivity and individuality. The absolute top-of-the range model from the luxury brand is the Pullman (fuel consumption combined: 14.6 l/100 km; combined CO2emissions: 330 g/km) with vis-à-vis seating behind the partition screen. Now the high-end luxury class from Mercedes-Benz is becoming even more exquisite. A new radiator grille and new exclusive colour combinations in the interior make for a new appearance. The longest model from the S-Class family with a length of 6.50 metres can be ordered starting on 15 March.
A reinterpretation of the Mercedes-Maybach radiator grille with its fine, vertical struts accentuates the front end. The grille was inspired by a pinstriped suit. It celebrated its world première in the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, the exclusive coupé concept car which thrilled connoisseurs and fans of the brand in 2016. The exterior appearance of the top-of-the-range model is rounded off by the 20-inch wheel in 10-hole design known from the Mercedes-Maybach. For an even more individual appearance, the range of paint finishes by customer demand now also includes the two-tone paint finishes presented with the Mercedes-Maybach S‑Class. The new exclusive colours magma grey, mahogany brown and silk beige/deep sea blue are available in the interior.
Its length of 6.50 metres alone is a sign of the special status of the Mercedes‑Maybach Pullman. It provides space for a generously sized and tastefully appointed club lounge in the rear, with a multitude of creature comforts fitted as standard, thereby ensuring the chauffeur-driven limousine lives up to today’s expectations of what constitutes maximum exclusivity and luxury. The VIP occupants sit on two standard-specification executive seats facing the direction of travel. They can enjoy the largest legroom in the segment; and can get in and out of the car with the greatest of ease and comfort. As is typical for a Pullman, the four passengers can sit facing each other in the compartment with an electrically operated partition. Also new for the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman is a front view camera. Rear passengers are thus able to monitor the traffic in front of the vehicle even when the partition screen is closed.
The “2 cabin sound” feature of the sound system offers more exclusivity than ever before. Thanks to independent control for the front and rear passenger compartment, the occupants of the Pullman enjoy even more personalised music. The price of the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman starts at around half a million euro.
The V12 biturbo engine of the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman now has an output of 463 kW (630 hp). Technical data at a glance:
|Number of cylinders/arrangement
|Rated output (kW/hp)
|Rated torque (Nm)
|Fuel consumption combined (l/100 km)
|Combined CO2 emissions (g/km)
|Acceleration 0-100 km/h (s)
Many governments, heads of state and royal families around the world have, for decades, chosen Mercedes-Benz saloon cars with the designation “Pullman” to travel in the stately style befitting their status. With the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman, the company is underscoring its exceptional position in this discerning segment: In addition to providing spacious seating in first-class comfort for high-ranking passengers, the new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman is of course also the embodiment of exclusivity at its highest level. One can sense the significance and greatness of it in every detail.
